Qualification Overview:

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed for those interested in a teaching career. This could be a trainer in the private training sector or a teacher in further education. The course covers the generic teaching skills required to become an effective teacher.

This qualification replaces the PTTLS qualification and certifies people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.

This course is Regulated, Ofqual recognised and an insurable course.

Learner Entry Requirements:

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. Qualification is suitable to ANY trade.

Age Ranges:

Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 19 years old to undertake the qualification.

Course Overview

The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and training skills sector, including:

Unit: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher in education and training and the relationship between different professionals within education and training.

Unit: Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches to meet the needs of learners. This includes how to create a learning environment that engages and motivates learners, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of inclusive teaching and learning. You are required to deliver a microteaching session and to evaluate your own delivery practice.

How is the micro teach conducted?

The Microteach can be videoed and then the link emailed through. Full support is given on how to do this. We can also do this via zoom if students prefer.

Unit: Understanding assessment in education and training

The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand how different types and methods of assessment are used in education and training. This includes ways to involve learners in assessment and requirements for record keeping.

Where does Training take Place: 

This is a distance learning course so you can study in the comfort of your own home , all material required to complete this qualification is provided within this platform along with video's to watch . This can be accessed from anywhere provided you have access to the internet. You will complete all your unit workbook/assignments on the computer and submit them to us for marking. 

The tutor will work with you, they will also give you a lot of guidance and support where needed.
